Also try by asking siri to give you step by step directions. This may put it in walking mode.

I was using SIRI to set an address; thus I had problems discovering the walk option. I'm on it now. -----Original Message----- From: viphone@googlegroups.com [mailto:viphone@googlegroups.com] On Behalf Of M. OK, assuming that you have one of these models, you may do the following in order to get directions to a location. Please keep in mind that this is the method I use, so far; there may be a more efficient way. 1. Launch the Maps App. 2. Near the top of the screen, there is a search field. Enter an address. For example, 4141 Ball Road Cypress, California. It does not appear necessary to enter delimiters such as commas. Also, although I have not yet done so, you may be able to use the dictation feature to enter the address or even get Siri to do the entire thing for you. 3. Once the address is located, you will have several options on the screen including the option to bookmark the address you just entered. 4. Above the search field, which is now populated with the address you just entered, you will discover a Directions button. Double-Tap, the Directions Button. A Route Dialog Box opens. 5. At the top of this Dialog Box are several options including the ability to create either a driving or walking route. Make your selection. 6. Located below these options in the same Dialog Box you will discover both the From and To fields by which you may set the beginning and end point of your route. After confirming this information, you will be returned to the map view but with several different options. 7. Assuming that you like the current route being shown simply Double-Tap the Start button located near the top of the screen. I went to settings and maps to operate turn by turn directions but could not get it to work. Would you please tell me how you got turn by turn to work? -----Original Message----- From: viphone@googlegroups.com [mailto:viphone@googlegroups.com] On Behalf Of M. Taylor Sent: Wednesday, September 19, 2012 9:22 PM To: viphone@googlegroups.com Subject: Delightful Results with iOS 6 Map Navigation, So Far Hello Everyone, It has been a long day. I have installed iOS 6 on 8 devices and each has been extremely painful. Be that as it may, I just returned from testing the new Maps App with voice guided navigation. I only went a couple of blocks, walking, but it worked like a charm. One feature that I truly love is the ability to show a route in list mode. A T & T Navigator offers a similar list but it is not VoiceOver accessible. I have not yet tested the Maps in a car yet but will do so tomorrow. Now I'm not saying that I would choose this app over my Humanware Trekker solution, but I may, if my current results hold, decide to unsubscribe from A T & T Navigator, a service costing $9.95 a month. One thing that Navigator does offer, however, is an amazing points of interest list that I doubt the Maps app can offer. The great thing about iOS is that there is something for everyone. So, at your earliest convenience, jump in and give the new turn-by-turn directions a spin. Oh, keep in mind that this feature is for iPHone 4 S and iPhone 5, only.
