Hi Anthony,
Well interesting enough, I am now an official "Non Practicing Diabetic"! I
received a kidney/pancreas transplant back in 2008. The kidney was doomed from
the get go, but the pancreas is still rocking strong! My A1C's come in at 4.9
or so.

Anyways; I just went to the Qardio website and unfortunately, they do not make
a blood glucose monitor. Bummer, right?
I know they do make blood sugar monitors that are Bluetooth/wireless and run
through an app. But damn! They are pricey indeed!
I have a blind lady friend, who went blind due to diabetic retinopathy, that
was researching for a smart phone blood sugar machine. She told me about a
really accessible one that was a pretty good unit. I forgot the name, but she
had to call the company to see if her Medicare/Medicaid would cover the cost of
the unit. As of this point, it wouldn't. But they said they were working on it
and it was hopeful.

One thing about this unit, you can add contacts to be notified if your blood
sugar drops down to a pre set level. Now that's cool! I remember, and tremble
when I do, back when I'd be standing in line with a friend. Then pass right out
from low blood sugar. I was brittle enough that I didn't feel it coming. Just
standing there talking with my friend and next thing I know, there's a
paramedic asking me what year it is and who's the president!
Does that bring back any memories to any of you out there? I feel for you all!
