Hi, can you explain what you mean by "cannot delete any letters"? Are you
referring to using the delete key on the virtual keyboard?

In iOS 6 delete, shift and More Numbers now work like any of the letters,
e.g. after you lift your finger on delete it will delete the previous
letter, after lifting your finger off shift it is activated so the next
letter you type is capital and if you touch More Numbers and lift the
numbers and symbols keyboard appears. There is no need to double tap those
any more.

If you want to turn on Caps Lock just touch shift once, then do a triple tap
anywhere on the screen. Now all letter will be capitalized until you touch
shift again, if you do it will say "Shift, Caps Lock On" and lifting your
finger will turn it off again.

If you are in an edit field and quickly want to delete a bunch of text,
touch delete and lift, now triple tap anywhere on the screen and hold, it
will delete until you let go or until everything is deleted. One thing you
have to make sure of is that you are at the end of your text and not at the
start of your edit field because if you are then delete obviously won't do
anything because your cursor is before all the text and there is nothing
there to delete. You can check where your cursor is by doing a single finger
double tap once you are in an edit field. If you are at the end and double
tap Voiceover will say "Insertion point at start", double tap again and
Voiceover will say "Insertion point at end" which is where you want to be if
you want to delete a bunch of text.

One thing I think everybody should write to Apple about is the fact they
forgot to put a "Clear All" button next to the edit field in the custom
label dialogue. I brought this to their attention when custom labels were
first introduced and was hoping they added this in iOS 6. It's probably a
simple matter, after all, it's usually there for most search boxes and it's
much easier than having to delete everything.

This new keyboard behavior with shift, delete and More Numbers takes just a
small amount of getting used to, but it's in fact much better, faster and
more consistent with how touch typing works and should work.

Regards,
Sieghard
