When I first finished installing iOS 11 the old female SIRI voice was still
there. I had to go into SIRI and change it to the male voice which at that
point said it was downloading.
Then when I change it back to the female voice it also said it was downloading
and once completed I had the new female voice.
I think maybe the difference is not as noticeable with the male voice because
it is improved, but not as different as the new female voice.
If you go to Speech settings and look at these voices the female SIRI voice is
almost 450 Mb whereas the male is only 300 Mb.

Subject: Strangeness with Siri voices

On my old iPad Mini too, I have upgraded to iOS 11. I installed the new fancy
Siri female voice, when into settings for Siri, and changed from male to
female. I exited settings and asked Siri about the weather. And the male voice
that I used prior to iOS 11 persists, even though I changed it to get the new
female to see if I like her any better. In the settings, it says the female is
selected, but the mail won't go away. man? what's up with this?
Mary
