Here's a cute joke about facial recognition: A wife started doing her make up as soon as she woke up.
Her husband asked the reason. She replied, "I have locked my phone with facial recognition. And it's not recognizing me without makeup." Take care. Mike. Go Dodgers! Sent from my iBarstool. However, I think Apple has clearly indicated where the wind blows, they said that Face Id is the future way of safely unlocking your phone and I am quite sure they will introduce Face Id version 2 next year which will be even better, faster and more secure and of course everybody else will scramble to develop their version of Face Id which is as secure as Apple's just as happened with Touch Id. It is always said how Apple comes late to the party and they don't innovate, but while that is true in some ways (example is OLED technology) Face Id as implemented in the iPhone X is true innovation and nobody can match it at this point. When Apple released the first retina display it was best in its class, when they released SIRI they were at the forefront of this technology, the same happened with Touch Id and now Face Id. Of course we all know that when Apple released the first iPhone it was truly revolutionary, then a couple of years later came the app store (let's not forget that Android didn't even exist or maybe it barely did when that happened). The way I see it Apple has done something pretty major every 2 or 3 years ago at the most and maybe some of you will remember this, but I predict that in the next one or two years Apple will do it again with wireless charging. They will take a technology which has existed for 15 years and totally take it to the next level by offering an iPhone which will charge from a couple of feet away or maybe even from 8 or 10 feet away. I had a Panasonic razor and I think that was actually 17 or 18 years ago which already had inductive charging, all you had to do is stick it into a cradle which was mounted on the wall and always plugged in and it would charge, the razor itself had no plug in for a cable at all. Like maybe use the x version of the IPhone as it's fancy model and keep the 8 or what ever the next version is as it's normal everyday phone. I mean what was the point in putting touch id on the mac book last year if they want to get rid of it, then again the mac book of last year didn't even have a lightning port for ear buds.
