Setting the auto lock to never and leaving it plugged in over night might be
worth a try.

Well, I admit that I have my screen lock set to never. So I can lock it when I
want and otherwise, it's not locked. Of course, keeping it unlocked will run
your battery down. But I'm not sure that just having it in the app switcher is
good enough to get the job done. Maybe. Otherwise, all I can say is, start with
a full charge, leave it open and go away for a couple of hours and see what
happens. With the library that big, it's going to take time. Maybe just having
it in the app switcher will be good enough. I hope you have a phone with a
modern processor, like a seven or even better, and eight, or at least a 6S. I
know for sure that my mini too just can't do it.

Honestly, the one thing that I wanted to mention though and I really
appreciate your response Mary and the fact that you are empathetic for sure.
The problem is if you keep Voice Dream open and you are not constantly doing
something with the program meaning reading or something the screen will lock so
I have it in the app switcher but if I just keep it open it is not going to
stay active I don’t believe
