I wonder what is above "screaming fast" which is what they use to describe the processor in the Galaxy and note 8. The A11 Bionic in the iPhone 8/8 Plus/iPhone X totally leaves it in the dust in the benchmark tests and most likely will in real-world tests since so far it always does. When I read this morning that the new Google Pixel phones ditched the 3.5mm headphone jack I did have to chuckle because while everybody always says Apple lags behind in some ways they totally set the trends. I would not be surprised if in the next year or two Samsung will also ditch the headphone jack in favour of USB-C or whatever. The one thing the iPhone is adopting late is OLED displays, but I wonder if that is more because of supply constraints because maybe they felt that until now they just couldn't get enough of them. Even now only the iPhone X will have it and of course they won't sell as many of those as all the other new models combined. Anyways, when you think of other technologies it's the others who still follow after the iPhone, Apple really started the trend to put a fast and reliable fingerprint sensor on the phone, now they again lead with Face Id which I am sure Samsung and Google will try to get right in the next year or two as well. I don't really consider what samsung has done so far because it's more of a gimmick since it can be fooled into unlocking from a picture of a person. I did, by the way, have an LG candy bar style cell phone about 15 years ago which came with it's own proprietary headset which plugged into the charge port and that phone had no 3.5mm or, as was also common in those days, a 2.5mm headset jack.
