Hi Richard,

The keys for VO are, the control and option keys (held down together) on an
Apple keyboard, and
the control and alt keys (held down together) on a Windows style keyboard.

The command key on an Apple keyboard corresponds to the Windows key on a
Windows style keyboard.

Take care. Mike. Go Dodgers!

Keyboard equivalents)

Hi Lois,

Nothing to be ashamed of. We all have to learn somehow.

To show my ignorance as well, I am not completely sure I have the right
information on which Windows keys are what when used with an Apple device.

My best guess is that the control key is the same.

The options key would be the Windows Key.

And The application key would be the command key.

If the Windows keyboard has a function key, it would be the same.

I’m sure there is a list out there with a list of which Windows keys equal
which Apple keys.

I know there are others on the list that can answer once they see these
messages.

HTH,

Richard

Okay, showing my ignorance here, by regular keyboard I mean not an Apple
keyboard. I’m not aware of an options key on other than an apple keyboard.
I thought the keys were Control, Function or vice versa, windows, and alt,
with applications key on the right side as well.

I’m sure I’m going to feel like a fool, but please explain.

Thanks,

Lois

Lois,

VO is control plus options not control plus command.

I do not know what you mean by a regular keyboard?

My question is, if VO means control plus command, which doesn’t exist on a
regular keyboard, what do you press instead.

Thanks,

Lois

According to the latest iOS 11 Keyboard commands from the Apple user guide,
Function Key plus VO, plus n opens the notification center.

I have tried with both the Logitech k480 and the AmazonBasics keyboard and
it doesn’t work.

I do not have access to an Apple Wireless keyboard. I wonder if it works
with it?

Thanks,

Richard
