Hi I have lazzus but my problem is that I cannot get it to tell me places. it
tells me the names of the street I am walking along and if that changes but it
doesn’t tell me what is coming up or what is on the otherside of the road. I
have selected 365 degrees and the phone is in my bag with the camera next to me
so I really don’t know what else to try. I have spoken tto lazzus and will do
again just wondered if anybody has any suggestions. Janet ps thanks for the
kick up the bum Richard it gave me quite a shock lol Janet

Mark,
It was discussed under the wrong name a while ago. It was referred to as Mobile
Assistant or something like that.
Then someone gave its real name of Lazzus.
At that time, it was not available in the US app store.
I had written the developer to ask if it was going to be available in the US.
He just wrote me today.
In further emails with the developer, they are wanting feedback from anyone who
wants to take the time to try it out.
They are planning to announce a one time charge option, but right now it is a
subscription program.
They do have a free trial which they are also going to increase the distance
allowed in the trial.
It is a little like Blind Square with a slightly different approach and perhaps
a little simpler.
Given there is a free trial, it is worth checking out as another GPS option.

  Hello Rich,

Thanks for letting us know about this app.

Is there something special about this app? I’ve never herd of it before.

Was it announced on some podcast or something? Just curious.

Lazzus is now available in the United States:
Lazzus: gps for the blind by Neosentec
  https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/lazzus-gps-for-the-blind/id981848717?mt=8

You can register and get a free trial that gives you 2000 meters to test it
out, then you can request an extension of the free trial, but I'm sure not too
many times.
The subscription rate as stated in the app is $26.99 per year or $3.99 per
month.
I only took a quick look at it so have not formed an opinion about it
compared to other apps.
