I don’t have to explore by touch, swiping to it works just fine on my 6S Plus. Wonder if on the smaller phones that is different. Anyhow, there are only 3 pieces of information on the screen and the picker just above the home button which lets you switch between Compass and Level. If I touch the picker and swipe left once Voiceover reads the elevation. If I touch anywhere near the middle or top and land on the heading, swiping right once gets me to the lat/long reading and another swipe reads the elevation. As I pointed out last night, opening the compass is not required if you want to just hear that info, ask SIRI “What is my elevation” and it will tell you.
