No, I have carefully checked my Settings and I have almost everything disabled in Background App refresh and in Location Services everything is as it was. I have also made no changes otherwise and can confirm that at times the mail app does seem to use up a lot of battery. During the beta cycle I have also seen the home screen, the Phone app and SIRI show a lot of battery usage even though I had not made a lot of calls or used SIRI all that often. The interesting thing is that most apps or services which showed a lot of battery usage are Apple apps and services and that to me is concerning. I have done multiple regular reboots, tried a few hard reboots and Reset Network Settings and while it’s a bit better now I think it’s still worse than before and I often have little battery left at the end of a day and that is on an iPhone 6S Plus where I used to get two days with similar usage patterns. I do plan to do a full reset of the phone at some point, maybe this weekend, and set up as a new phone. I think every couple of years doing this is not a bad idea and I don’t usually keep lots of text message history, all my pictures go to iCloud and I don’t even store music on my phone any more locally. One of the most annoying things when I set up as a new phone is the work I have to set up my mail accounts, log back in to all the other accounts/services I use such as Facebook, Skype, WhatsApp, my Netatno Weather station, Alexa and other home automation products we use such as thermostat, lights and lock and so on. Of course there is rearranging the apps the way I want and creating the folders I want, nothing is particular difficult but all is time consuming and I bet it’s going to take 2 to 3 hours to get it all done.
