I type in the name or part of the name, then
double tap. The phone displays any names with
those characters and I double tap on the one I
want. I don't go to contacts at all.

I've had similar issues, where texting from
contacts hasn't always worked. I'd also be interested in answers.
As for texting with Siri, I've not run into a
limit. And, if Siri stops before you're ready,
and when she asks if you want to sent it, say
"Append." She will then ask you what you want to add.

This evening I tried to send a text to a friend
who’s in my contacts. At the “to†field, I
typed in her name. Then I flicked right to
“add contact†and found her name in the

and there was her phone number with her name;

message field and double-tapped typed in my
message, and tapped Send. The message did not go through.
When you are sending a message to somebody in
your contacts, which is what I’m going to do
most of the time, do you type in their name, or
do you just go straight to “add contact†and
choose them? Sometimes I can get this to work
just fine, and sometimes it seems to confound
me. So I exit out and ask Siri to do it. IN this
case I wanted to say more than Siri allows …
What am I doing wrong? I feel really silly.
