I noticed this problem in the beta and reported it to Apple but now it is still
not fixed.
In the past, when a message came up on your locked screen, you could double tap
on it and would be taken directly into the Messaging app and with the thread
open and the keyboard on screen. Now however, tapping on the message on the
locked screen does nothing whatsoever. This means you have to
1. Unlock your screen
2. Open the messaging app
3 Find the thread with the unread message and double tap
4 Double tap on the message to bring up the keyboard.
Obviously, this is a step backwards and much more cumbersome.
I realize that you could invoke Siri and use it to reply but I am one of those
who does not like using Siri for texting and this is very annoying and time
consuming.
Please try this to see if your experience is the same and if so, please send
feedback to Apple. I have now sent feedback twice.
