Again, I'm not following, but as you say, that's my fault and not due to any lack of clarity on your point.

Two factor authentication being used by others helps me since if someone has my contact stored in the cloud, and their account is compromised then I'm opened up to spam and other malware attacks.

As I said in my first email, I tend to agree with you, and people should have the freedom to determine their own level of security. I just think you're naive for thinking the security on your own phone only affects yourself. I also think it's ironic that someone who chooses to buy into the Apple ecosystem chooses a simple reminder to complain about living in a nanny state. Makes  me wonder how closely you've read your EULA from Apple.

If you can't work out what i am saying, then i really can't be bothered, as i have things to do, and can't keep arguing the toss with you.

I don't get your statement that two factor authentication is a waste of
time. I'm not sure how greater security is a waste of time. I also think
your analogy is flawed. You're talking about a device on the network
that's using shared services and resources. I suppose if your house was
broken into and then was used as a base for criminal activity throughout
the neighborhood then it would be a better analogy, and if the police
reminding people to lock their doors to reduce crime in the
neighborhood, I'd be OK with that.

Equating a reminder to use two factor authentication with living in a
dictatorship is not only melodramatic, but it also trivializes the
plight of all of those people who do live in a dictatorship.

No it doesn't.

If you have all your security, set up on your phone, and your Pc, then it shouldn't affect you at all.

If that was the case, then it would mean, that 2 factor varification was a waist of time, as everyone would be affected.

If i choose to leave my front door, unlocked at night, it will be me, that is at risk of being burgled, and not you.

I don't wish to live in a nanny state, and i am able to make my own decisions.

I left school quite some years ago.

I tend to agree with you, but it isn't true that how someone else sets
up their phone doesn't affect you. Having insecure devices on the
internet and networks negatively impacts all of us.

Also, how Apple chooses to remind people to make their devices more
secure has nothing to do with whether you live in a democracy or a
dictatorship.

In your opinion.

It's up to the individual, how they, choose to use their own property.

Not you or Apple.

It doesn't affect you, how a person decides, to set up their phone.

I live in a Democracy, and not a Dictatorship!

Everyone should have two factor authentication enabled.
I have two factor authentication enabled for my Apple ID and Google
account and it greatly improves security.
So, I understand why Apple continues to nag about enabelling two
factor authentication <grin>
It's actually a very good idea to use that extra layer of security for
your Apple ID and other accounts.

As for Do Not Disturb while driving I used to get these as well, then at some point I toggled it to automatic and back to manual and they never popped up again.

Hi
Did anyone respond to this question?  I am having the same issue.  For some odd reason, my phone has been giving me a "suggestion for apple Id and two factor authentication. When I tap on the suggestion and/or tip whatever, it takes me into settings and I have the choice to install now, learn more, or not now.  This message pops up randomly and can appear as much as three to four times a day.

I also continue to receive a suggestion that I can turn on Do not Disturb While driving.  I went into settings and selected manually for do not disturb.  However, it pops up every time I get into the car.  I still receive texts and other notifications while in the car but also this message. I cannot find in control center or notifications where to get rid of these suggestions or tips or whatever they are called. If anyone can help, I surely would appreciate it.
Kathy
