And if you get a replacement then that is even better, it is probably a
refurbished phone, but that's as good as new.

I would take this to an Apple Store since battery swelling might be covered
beyond the regular warranty and if they ut a new battery into your iPhone 7 and
make sure the screen is fine you end up with an iPhone 7 which probably is
perfectly fine again and which will probably serve you well for another 2 years
at least. It's of course up to you if you want a new phone, sometimes we all
can be very good at pursuading ourselves we need something *smile*.

Hi Ana and all,
After several restarts, resetting all settings and generally fiddling about,
I’ve come to the conclusion that it’s time to put this iPhone 7 to rest and
upgrade to a new device. I’ve noticed several things that led me to this
conclusion. The device has overheated on occasion, which caused the battery to
swell slightly and, as a consequence, the left edge of the screen has separated
ever so slightly from the chassis in the area extending from the mute switch
down to at or just below the volume down switch. The screen has a very slight
upward curve. And here’s the clincher. 3d touch only seems to work on the
righthand side of the screen. Correct me if I’m wrong, but that doesn’t strike
me as normal. So, methinks I see an appointmant at my local Apple or AT&T store
this weekend.

Just thought I’d give you all an update. Comments?

Tom
