After somewhat frequent use, I remain fairly unimpressed. The primary reason: the document channel. My wife (sighted) has verified that more often than not I am getting a page of text entirely in the picture and readable to the eye. Nevertheless, my results are almost always inconsistent. Sometimes the results are good, though almost never perfect. Other times they are terrible. The inconsistency can happen even when the pictures are almost identical. We have tried this on many, many documents. For reference: an iPhone 7 running iOS 11.4.
I would love to hear contrary testimonials. I have emailed this list in the past with similar issues, and the response has been mostly along the lines of "you must not be positioning correctly". But at this point I havehave had many sighted people verify that in fact I (and they) are positioning the camera correctly with bad results.
