Iphone 6 and IOS 12 and incoming phone calls

I have noticed since IOS 12 that often I will get an incoming call.  When I do a 2 finger double tap to answer it it seems to answer but I hear nothing.  After a half minute or so the call hangs up. I looked through the settings and can't find anything that seems to affect this.
