That is funny LOL!
A double tap is so intuitive for me to do, I do not think about it. I think
someone would think to just ask SIRI to turn speech off LOL!
I wonder if you can say speech to SIRI instead of Voice over LOL!
We will have to see what we can ask SIRI to do that would turn off speech for
the person who took it LOL!
Take care, Carolyn!

That double tapping really throws sighted people. My husband is really good
with computers and stuff, but that double tapping - well, he thinks it makes me
have to work so hard to use my phone. He said if it ever got stolen, the thief
would not be able to use my phone. My cousin says that people who steel phones
know more than he thinks, and they'd have Voice Over off in a minute!

Best regards,

Carolyn

Dear Harry & List:
Not aware using screen curtain saves battery. It blacks out the screen by
setting entire screen to black, this uses battery power.

You may save battery a good bit by saying Hey Siri make screen darkest. If
someone sighted wants to use the phone, say hey Siri make screen brightest as
well as hey Siri turn voiceover off.
When they are finished, turn voiceover on with hey Siri turn voiceover on or do
three-finger double tap.
You can darken & Brighten the screen in 25% increments with hey Siri make
screen darker or brighter.

Turning off voiceover lets the phone respond to single taaps, not double with
voiceover on. Sighted people never get used to double tapping.

Does the screen curtain save battery now on all iPhone models running iOS 12?
Thanks
