I've been following this thread and like alan, I wonder how it'll b used foronline shopping since none of the info is on the card itself. could you getit from apple wallet maybe? I recall something of it being stored on there.

because it’s a remote location with relatively little traffic compared to

flights between larger cities where the larger jets fly. I do thistypically6 to 8 times a year which even if I can get $600 tickets would be aminimum

of $3,600 to $4,800 a year and potentially it could be over $6,000 a year.

With points/miles I still have to pay around $100 taxes and fees for aroundtrip flight, but for me this makes a huge difference. Fortunately I canpay

many of my suppliers by credit card and usually rack up at least around a
quarter Million a year between my Visa and Mastercard which converts to a

lot of points. I just flew to the Philippines for $480 in taxes and feesandthe rest was Aeroplan points. I have also bought quite a bit ofmerchandise

with these points, most recently $1,200 in Best Buy gift cards, a set of
Sonos One speakers and a couple of years ago my Honeywell Lyric T5

thermostat etc. For me it seems that any time I compare cash back cardswith

the reward cards I have I get more out of my Air Miles and Aeroplan cards.

At 2% cash back I would have to spend $30,000 to earn the $600 I need tobuy

a ticket to Vancouver, with Aeroplan I get 1 point/mile for every Dollar I
spend and I only need 15,000 points/miles for a ticket and it also doesn’t

matter if the ticket happens to cost $600 or $800 at the time, $30,000would

buy me two tickets with Aeroplan.

The Apple Card won't be out until Summer, and if they are saying it willbe

accepted anywhere Master Card is; I suspect you will get it in Canada and
elsewhere; but who knows.
Also, the difference Apple is drawing on this card is that the cash back

happens immediately rather than the end of the month and the interestrates

will be lower.
No specific percentages mentioned on the interest though"

I just read about the Apple Card.
Master Card is the credit card behind the scenes, and Goldman Sax is the
issuing bank.
Apparently then, the Apple Card should be accepted anywhere Master Card is
currently.

is not Apple's fault but it is in general a problem with the entirebanking

Here in Canada we have had chip cards for many years and almost every
merchant has contactless terminals which means as long as a transaction is
below a certain amount, usually $100, all you have to do it tap your
physical credit card to the card terminal and that's it. If the amount is
greater you insert the credit card and enter your PIN just as you would do
with a bank/debit card. There is no swiping or signing, you can either tap
or you enter your PIN.
That is also why once Apple Pay was introduced in Canada and it was

supported by the major banks and card processors it was availablevirtually

everywhere as long as the merchant has a contactless terminal. It is very
rare that I can't use tap or Apple Pay and it makes no difference whether
it's at a large chain like Best Buy or at the privately owned
little corner store.

You can use it with Apple Pay at places that take it .. If they don'ttake

it then you use the physical card.  You have access to the card number,
expiration date, and  CVN via the wallet, so you can use it just like any
other credit card.

As for places in the US that take Apple Pay...  Wal Mart is about the only
place I go that doesn't take it ...

There is supposed to be a way you can use the card in places that don’ttakeApple Pay. I don’t think they said exactly what that was, but I didn’twatchthe presentation. I just read about it afterwards, because it’s a wholelot

faster. I can use Apple Pay in grocery stores and a couple of drugstore

chains here in town. I also use it for an online natural food store whereI

do a fair bit of shopping. I think target takes it now as well. They were
resistant for a long time.

Well, they said this card would be usable in places where Apple Pay wasnot

excepted. So there has to be a way. I m definitely going to get it when it
comes out. I think it s going to be extremely convenient. No fees. No late

I think it is a great idea, should cut down a lot on credit card
fraud, and I plan to get one. I might ditch others. If you ve ever
gone through the hassle of having to call in about fraudulent
purchases that show up on your credit card statement, which has
happened to me more than once, well  I can t wait. There s no number
on this thing, no expiration and no special three digit code to memorize.

in the USA with ApplePay hasn't been what I'd call wide acceptance.
In fact, Since ApplePay has existed, I've only been able to use it a
handful of times at either a McDonald's or Walgreens. So while I
agree that 2% rewards for use of the Apple Card is pretty generous,
I'm not convinced it will be realizable at the places I shop unless
ApplePay becomes accepted in a lot more places than it currently is.



 I'm curious what others on the list think about the Apple Card. I
understand about companies needing to expand their product offerings
in order to generate more revenue but I can't say Apple's efforts to
expand into News, media entertainment production, and financial
services generates a feeling of confidence for me.
