On my X it is right below the Date and above the camera

I run iOS 12.3, I usually run whatever is the latest Beta, in the case of 12.3
I received the official release yesterday as well since apparently it changed
from the last public beta release. I do, however, not have an iPhone XR or XS,
but an iPhone 8. Maybe it is not on the older phones, where exactly on the lock
screen is this supposed to be? If I press the side button to wake up my phone I
have the following:

The time is announced and currently if I swipe left I can’t go any further than
9:41 AM

If I swipe right I hear Wednesday, May 15, 2019

If I swipe right again I get “Press Home to Unlock button

Then another swipe right gets me Page 2 of 3

That is the last element on the screen.

If I go to Page 3 of 3 it is my Camera screen and Page 1 of 3 is the Today
screen.

If I tap on “Press Home to Unlock” I get the “Touch Id or enter passcode”,
there is the passcode field where it says 0 of 6 values entered, the keypad is
on the screen and the only other button I see is the Emergency button on the
bottom left of the keypad.

My wife who is sighted and who also has an iPhone 8 just confirmed the same,
the only Flashlight button she has is in the Control Centre.

I guess if there is a flashlight button on the lock screen on the XR then it’s
an XR feature and since there was no iOS 11 any more when the XR came out the
iOS version shouldn’t matter unless the original iPhone X which was released in
the fall of 2017 together with iOS 11 had the flashlight button and it could be
disabled.

Regards,

Sieghard

in iOS 11 this could be disabled. In iOS 12 it seems not.

I don't understand Sieghard's claim that it isn't part of his lockscreen
(unless he's running iOS 11 and disabled 3d touch). it certainly is on all my
families phones.

  Hi Chris,

I am a bit confused here, I don’t have either Flashlight nor Camera on the
lock screen. The Camera can be accessed from the lock screen if you do a
3-finger swipe from right to left, but even then there is no Flashlight unless
maybe you have the camera’s flash turned on permanently which of course you can
change, you can set it to come on automatically or not at all.

The actual Flashlight as far as I know can only be turned on either by asking
SIRI or by swiping up to the Control Centre and then you do of course have both
the camera and flashlight buttons there. Do you maybe mean the Control Centre
instead of the lock screen?

As far as the Control Centre is concerned you can in fact decide what is on
it or not, just go to Settings > Control Centre > Customize Controls and select
or deselect the items you want or do not want. You can definitely take the
f;lashlight and camera off if they are on the Control Centre.

  Hello folks,

Does anyone know how to remove the flash light and the camera buttons from
the locked phone screen? As you know, when the phone is locked, the flash
light and the camera buttons are still accessible. I do not want them to be
there. Very often, as I put the phone in my pocket, my finger touches one of
them by mistake and activates it. That drains my phone battery out. The other
day while I was in the train in the underground, Someone alerted me that my
phone flash light is on because he can see strong light coming out of my
pocket. It was funny in a way, but also annoying.

I looked through all the phone’s settings to see if I can remove these
buttons but I was not able to locate the setting to hide these buttons from the
locked screen.

If anyone knows how, I will extremely appreciate it.

  Regards,

  Cris
