No, wireless charging has nothing to do with the country you are in and it is
available on all iPhones starting with the iPhone 8/8 Plus.
It works with most cases, but obviously if you have a super thick case with
some sort of clip in the back it probably won’t work. I just use a fairly
minimalist case and it works fine, also, if the case has metal in it, it may
not work, either.
One thing to remember is that many wireless chargers, especially the cheaper
ones, may charge your phone a bit slower than if you plug it in, but it depends
a little bit also on whether you use the standard 5 Watt wall plug which comes
with an iPhone or a wall adapter with a bit more output like the one that comes
with an iPad which you can buy separately, Anker also has many wall adapters. A
lot of the Anker ones have 2, 3, 4 or even 5 USB ports. There are a number of
fast charge standards out there, but of course apple is using their own for
which you need a wireless charging pad which can deliver 7.5 Watts and supports
Apple’s fast charge technology.
I may not plug my phone in, but if I have a charging pad on my desk it’s just
as easy to lay the phone down on it than laying it on my desk.
Other than that there is not much to know, you can buy inexpensive chargers on
Amazon for around $$20 to $30 or you can buy brand name ones like from Belkin,
Mophie and so on and they can cost $40 or even $70 here in Canada, Anker also
has some more expensive ones like this one:

Anker PowerWave Fast Wireless
Charger<https://www.amazon.ca/Anker-PowerWave-Qi-Certified-Compatible-Qi-Enabled/dp/B07DBXNV58/ref=pd_bxgy_107_img_3/140-8704529-9722821?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B07DBXNV58&pd_rd_r=ed08d108-8c49-11e9-bebf-d96558d10dd7&pd_rd_w=VzpHg&pd_rd_wg=MmYwe&pf_rd_p=a62e2918-d998-4bbb-8337-35aac776e851&pf_rd_r=K9ZARSZJCNA1TVPN1P02&psc=1&refRID=K9ZARSZJCNA1TVPN1P02>

And here is a less expensive one which gets very good ratings and seems to have
many good features as well as supporting fast charging, but it says it comes
with a USB-C cable, but I did not see anything about an adapter so you may have
to buy an appropriate USB-C wall adapter:

Choetech 15W Fast Wireless
Charger<https://www.amazon.ca/Wireless-CHOETECH-Qi-Certified-Compatible-Fast-Charging/dp/B07RFLD1QB/ref=sr_1_2_sspa?crid=U87FCT1EY3ZT&keywords=iphone+wireless+charging+pad&qid=1560259123&s=gateway&sprefix=iPhone+wireless+charging+pad%2Caps%2C-1&sr=8-2-spons&psc=1>

Thanks much, Sieghard, No, I didn’t know about wireless charging. My impression
was that wireless charging was available in US only. I would like to hear more
about wireless charging if we have it in Canada.
Would it work with my case on?
I just purchased a new case last week from Amazon as the old one is dead. I
don’t remember its name but it says it comes with kickstand.
Thanks!

It’s just a name, they could have called it Anker Powerline XT or whatever,
don’t worry about it.
The Anker cables are very good, very inexpensive compared to Apple cables and
much more durable.
You know that your iPhone 8 also supports wireless charging, right? You can buy
any number of wireless charging pads or stands and this way you can put your
phone down to charge yet have the Lightning port free in case you want to plug
in a headset.

Sieghard

Subject: Six-Foot-Cable for iPhone8, Is This A Correct Cable?

Hi, list.
Did I purchase a correct cable from Amazon for my iPhone8? It is:
Anker Powerline II Lightning Cable (6ft), Probably The World's Most Durable
Cable, MFi Certified for iPhone Xs/XS Max/XR/X / 8/8 Plus / 7/7 Plus / 6/6
<https://www.amazon.ca/gp/r.html?C=2JG4V7T7UJ2XJ&K=3AEFZQWZPKS8T&M=urn:rtn:msg:2019060705561146e47f7ba5f54e17a361300e2110p0na&R=64BYJW18IQIE&T=C&U=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.amazon.ca%2Fdp%2FB01N75EALQ%2Fref%3Dpe_3034960_236394800_TE_dp_2&H=ZUZVJBGFSEY0XFDEYK7SZLHL8DAA&ref_=pe_3034960_236394800_TE_dp_2>
What does Powerline II mean? Should I have bought Powerline I?
Thanks!
