Hello Sieghard

Thanks much. I did not even know that Sonos One can be setup to use Google
Assistant. Can you perhaps point me to a site where I can read about setting up
Alexa and Google Assistant or does one find info in the Sonos Controler help
system?

Regards

Fanus

Subject: Sonos now has the Google Assistant

Hi Sonos fans,

I haven’t seen anything posted yet, but just in case you didn’t know, if you
own a Sonos One, Sonos Beam soundbar or Sonos, then you can now set it up to
either use Alexa or the Google Assistant. Obviously the Google Assistant has
its advantages in terms of knowing much more than Alexa when it comes to
general questions, asking for phone numbers for businesses, making calls etc.,
but Alexa also has advantages since Audible is supported and so on.
Unfortunately so far you do have to choose between the 2, you can change it
from time to time but they are not yet both supported simultaneously although I
believe it is Sonos’ goal to achieve this.

We currently have our Sonos One stereo set in the kitchen set up for Google
Assistant and our Sonos One stereo pair in the bathroom for Alexa. It’s nice to
have Google in the kitchen since it’s much easier to ask for reccipes, the
integration with our new GE cook stove works better and certain other of our
home automation also seems to work better on the Google Assistant.

Best regards,

Sieghard
