If you read the link I posted on the feature, you'll see that your iPhone is supposed to learn your charging habits over time. I'm just guessing here, but based on what I read, if you only plug your phone in over night then you'll probably still get a full charge when you plug it in in the evening, but if you plug it in during the day then you'll just get charged up to 80% since your phone will think it'll see a charger that evening. As with most things on your iPhone, I would assume you could toggle it on or off, and in fact, I think I read this feature will be off to start with and you'll need to turn it on.
