Technically, the SE first generation and second generation take the same size 
SIM card.
However, the new SIM cards are much faster, so Apple recommends getting a new 
SIM card with the new phone.
I was told by an Apple staff person that I could set up the new phone with the 
old SE SIM, but should then get a new SIM card as the performance will be much 
better.
And, the new SE is a Dual SIM phone; as in one physical SIM and one eSIM just 
like the 11 and xs/xr phones if your carrier supports the eSIM.
