Hi Alan, Would you or someone please explain the difference between backing up through my iPhone to iCloud, and backing up through iTunes? I've read mixed opinions on this and since I backup both my wife's phone and mine both ways I would like to know which backup to use when we get our new SE 2020 iPhones. Thanks much.
Take care. Mike. I got some sort of confusing response from the new phone that my Apple ID did not match. Since I had only ever had one Apple ID, I decided at that point to restore from my encrypted iTunes backup which worked fine after the delay to re-download all the apps from the cloud. I believe when I get my SE 2020, I'll just restore from a backup and proceed without the phone to phone transfer. When I did this method of phone to phone transfer from a 5S to my currently-running SE, it asked me nevertheless if I wanted either an Icloud or an ITunes backup. Shouldn t it have transferred everything from one to another phone (even my music from ITunes) without having me asked it for which backup I wanted to restore from? What s the essence then, in usin the phone to phone method?
