I've had this happen myself.
What I tend to do is put the phone on my desk or table and put my hand over it
then lift my hand to enable the speaker phone.

Subject: Speaker when on calls.

I have had the problem of the speaker not going off, when I put the phone next
to my ear, but today, when I made a call that my husband needed to hear, but I
had to have the headset on to punch in numbers, then the speaker did not come
back on. Should I just flick around to try to see if I can get it back?
