Greetings. Often there is a phone number you can call for accessing voicemail. Granted, most people do it via the phone app, but I'm pretty sure you can call in if you need to. I don't recall the number for AT&T. Many major carriers use 611 to access carrier functions, like support, billing, and so forth.
