Hi Mary, I use just press record on my phone and apple watch and it's quality is great.
As for recording your visit, Surely for your personal notes a recording of your meeting would be sensible as it's not like you can hand write your notes from the meeting and read them back easily At least I'm guessing that would be difficult of ryou. So a voice recording to me would be sensible.
