Mary, In the settings in the app, select advanced, then select whatever it says for the auto transcription, and you will find the choices are, all, short, and never. Select never, and then it will only do transcriptions if you tell it to. I do not know what the legacy setting is. I too would use the phone. I'd probably have it record to the phone in case there is an issue with iCloud. HTH,Z
