I would highly recommend not to upgrade now. It's already mid March and whil the new 2021 phones are still 6 months away, an iPhon e8 is a good phone and I assume it probably works well. Especially if you were thinking of buying an iPhone 12 it is better to wait, if you can get a really good deal on an iPhone 11 and if you don't care to have Touch Id as well as Face Id and you are not concerned about 5G and what the Lidar capable hardware might be capable of with respec tto blindness related app s then its OK to get an iPhone 11 now. In my opinion the 11 Pro or 11 Pro Max are a waste of money and they don't give a blind person a lot of advantages and as I said, I strongly discourage anybody from the iPhone 12 models because of their first generation 5G support, lack of Lidar except of in the Pro Max and maybe the Pro (I forget if only the Pro Max has it or also the Pro), but I know the regular 12 and 12 SE definitely don't have it. If you are somebody who likes to get more than 2 or even 3 years out of an iPhone the iPhone 13 will in my opinion be the way to go.
