Hi

I just purchased a keyboard cover very similar to it. However I'm not sure
how to connect the cover to the iPad. How is this done. Also can you fold
the iPad over the keyboard when you want to use it as the usual tablet.

Thanks

Debbie

Subject: Logitech keyboard cover for the iPad, etc.

Hello all,

Sorry if this has been posted previously, but I wanted to mention that I use
the Logitech ultrathin keyboard cover for the iPad,and I've been very happy
with it.

First, the keyboard is quite easy to use and has a comfortable feel wehn I
am typing. I can use the onscreen keyboard pretty well, in fact, better than
on the iPhone, but I like the bt keyboard for quickly typing emails, notes,
and so forth.

The battery life is quite good, as the documentation says the battery will
last for six months based on using the iPad for two hours every day. There
are two shortcomings involving the micro USB cable and the batttery
indicator. First, the cable is approximately six inches long, so the
keyboard has to be very close to your computer or to the outlet where the
iPad charger is plugged in to charge the keyboard's battery.

Also, there doesnt' seem to be an indicator on the iPad that notifies one of
the battery status. The status bar across the top of the screen shows
"bluetooth connected" but no battery indicator.

On another subject, Several have talked about using the Pages program. I
haven't gotten that app, but I plan to do so. In the meantime, I am using a
free app called IA Writer. I'm still experimenting with it, but it works
well with VoiceOver and can be used in conjunction with Dropbox and iCloud.
Files can also be stored on your IOS device.

Files can be exported as plain text, email attachments or sent to a printer.

I wrote a short test file and sent it to my work email. It worked like a
charm, and when I checked, there was the attached file in plain text format.
There is also a way of sending a formatted file, but I haven't tried that
option yet.

I also believe that IA Writer has a spell checker, but I haven't ben able to
find it.

Anyway, I am continuing to experiment with the iPad and apps, and am enjoying
it very much.

Sincerely,

Liz Campbell
