Yes this was mentioned and the connection on android and windows devices is to
be done through the web browsers on the non apple devices.
Which to me is going to open the video conferencing world up so much more now
that facetime can be used on multiple platforms.
Rather than everyone relying on the likes of zoom.

It appeared to me that the majority of the features to come,
Have really been pushed by what has happened world wide with the covid
lockdowns and more and mrore people working from home or more remote locations
than in the office.

Subject: FaceTime on Android and Windows

I just realized there was a somewhat significant announcement on Monday at WWDC
that I have not seen any comments about.

Here is one little snippet from the web about it.

Apple is also adding the ability to share links to FaceTime calls, putting the
company in a better position to compete with the likes of Zoom. FaceTime Links
will allow for users across both the iOS and Android ecosystems to join the
same call. Windows and Mac users can also jump into calls through their
desktops.

Apple's FaceTime updates will be introduced with the release of iOS 15. We'll
have more to say about iOS 15, as well as the other announcements from WWDC
2021<https://www.shacknews.com/topic/wwdc-2021/>, so stay tuned to Shacknews
for the latest news.
