Well, we have only heard that it is a planned feature; no info about implementation, accessibility, or anything; so being skeptical makes perfect sense. I'm sure once public beta testing begins, there will be more details around on the web concerning this.
Just the fact that Apple is looking at a way to provide access to non-Apple devices to FaceTime calls is worth taking note of. If this works well, it could replace Skype and Zoom and a few other things if the screen sharing and all work as planned. A big if, but possibly very good.
