HI Mike, I did not realize the Activity option would allow you to lock the speech rate. That whole section is there so you can set up different configurations for different apps or situations. So, if you wanted a different voice for a particular app, I think you can do that in there. I only looked at it briefly when it first arrived, so hopefully you will get more details from Apple next week.

When I opened this and opened the, Programs, option I noticed that I could chage the voiceover speech rate setting here, but nowhere else. There is also an item called, Activity 1, in here as well, but I don't recall ever purposely setting either the Programs or Activity 1, options up. Maybe this was done automatically somehow, or I set these 2 items up without knowing I did it. Anyways I deleted both the, Programs and Activity 1, items from the Activities folder and now my voiceover speech rate is again working in both voiceover settings and from the Speech Rate option on the rotor.
