Hi Richard,

I don't know how the Programming or Activity items got activated so that
they could lock the speech rate, since I don't ever mess around in this
folder, but I just don't have a clue how I could have bumped or moved
something on the phone to make all this happen.

I'm wondering if this is something I did on the rotor. I had the Activities
on the rotor and maybe that's what I did, was accidentally swipe up or down
on the Activities item while turning the rotor.

Stay safe & take care. Mike.

HI Mike,

I did not realize the Activity option would allow you to lock the speech
rate.

That whole section is there so you can set up different configurations for
different apps or situations.

So, if you wanted a different voice for a particular app, I think you can do
that in there.

I only looked at it briefly when it first arrived, so hopefully you will get
more details from Apple next week.

I’m glad you got it resolved now.

Subject: Locked Voiceover Speech Rate Now Working, How I Fixed It

Hi All,

I don't know how this happened, but there's a folder / item called,
Activities, in voiceover settings. When I opened this and opened the,
Programs, option I noticed that I could chage the voiceover speech rate
setting here, but nowhere else. There is also an item called, Activity 1,
in here as well, but I don't recall ever purposely setting either the
Programs or Activity 1, options up. Maybe this was done automatically
somehow, or I set these 2 items up without knowing I did it.

Anyways I deleted both the, Programs and Activity 1, items from the
Activities folder and now my voiceover speech rate is again working in both
voiceover settings and from the Speech Rate option on the rotor.

I'll learn more about the Activities folder when I talk to Apple
Accessibility next week.

Stay safe & take care. Mike.
