This is why auto lock is important. Hopefully get it sorted. You should be able to select and drag more then 1 app at a time.

Because of not having my phone locked when pushing it into pocket, I evidently triggered edit mode and several of my app icons, that normally are on my first page of home screen, are now shifted to other pages, some even into folders. I’ve tried doing edit mode, holding my finger on icon that I’m wanting to shift back and sliding, but it only goes to boundary of page and I’m unable to figure out how to move it further.
