I don't experience this, just tapped on compose to test it and I added the first recipient, then I tapped on Add Contact and I searched for a name, when I tapped on it the contact opened up and I tapped on their mobile number and Voiceover said "Added Recipient" and it took me back to the main message compose screen. I repeated this twice more this time adding people by going down in my list of contacts instead of using search and each time Voiceover said "Added recipient" and it went back to the main screen. After I added 4 recipients I swiped to the message field and double tapped to write my message, but of course at this point I cancelled the message since I didn't really want to send one. If you can't swipe to the message field you can also press Enter on the onscreen keyboard and it will advance you to the message field, I actually often do this instead because this way I just do one gesture and I get to the message field, otherwise I have to swipe a couple of times past Apps and Camera.
