I have gone into settings and found contacts enter on that and the first thing you hear is allow contacts to acces, siri and search, accounts 2, sort order last first display order first last, short name my info, default account iCloud, import Sim contacts,

and that is all there is.  hope that may help someone.  confused (I am) Janet

What is the difference between default account and Icloud?
Somehow my phone picked up a bunch of contacts that I don't care about, I
suspect it ported over from either the default or the Icloud account. I'd like
to know how I know what it did, and what the difference is between Icloud and
default?

Janet, normally, they don't get save to the Sim card. They're normally either
safe to iCloud or a Google account or a Outlook account. To check with their
going, you can go to settings,/contacts. Then your swipe all the way down to
the bottom, and you'll hear something that says default account, and mine says
iCloud.
