If your phone is running good, the battery still holds up and it does all you
want it to do then why spend the money, there are already rumours for a much
larger jump/upgrade next year, possibly the iPhone 14 will have both Touch Id
and Face Id options for unlocking/authentication and I think you are better off
saving for that than to possibly buy an iPhone 11 or 12 now because they are
going to be a better deal and even if you buy an iPhone 13 or 13 Mini then
maybe you'll kick yourself next year. iPhones are mature products and have been
for years, there is little which is "revolutionary" any more and unless you
have money to burn and it makes financially no difference to you if you spend
$1,000 or $1,200 Canadian each year on a new phone then there is nothing wrong
to keep a phone for more years. A friend of mine in Germany who could easily
afford to buy the latest Pro phone just recently gave up his old 5S because it
really was bad with battery only lasting half a day etc. But did he go out and
buy an iPhone 12 Pro? No, he bought a used iPhone 8 which ended up having
issues as well so now he bought an iPhone 12 Mini for his sighted wife who had
an SE 2020 before and he now uses her SE 2020 because he says it's fast, the
battery is good and it does all he wants it to do.

Subject: now that the apple event is finnished what about those of us who still
are running the older phones? I am running the i phone 8.

Hi all. I just am wondering I am running the I phone 8 and now that the apple
event is over what about those of us who are running older phones like that? I
have been thinking of upgrading for a while but am not shure witch phone I
should upgrade to? Since beaing that I am blind I don’t really cair that much
about the camra and stuff except when it comes to doing things like ocr and
stuff I just was wondering the groups thoughts? My phone is still running good
and vo is still working as it should I just was wondering about the groups
thoughts. Btw I am in Ontario Canada if that helps so some of the things like
the us carriers wouldn’t really apply to my situation. I got this phone back in
2019 and we are now in 2021. From Mich Verrier from New Liskeard Ontario Canada.
