I decided to use a small hammer to solve this annoying issue. I reset all settings. The problem is gone. I first tried just resetting the dictionary thinking maybe that was the issue.
No other setting seemed to be the problem so I decided to just reset all settings and poof, all works as it should, only I have to go through and fix all the settings that got cleared out.
