Yes, that EID number, I think, is around 32 digits long or something like that.
As a small tip, this is one of those occasions where I’d use the 3-finger tap 4
times after flicking right on that about page to the EID to copy exactly what
VO said to the clipboard. One can then either paste it in the box they need it
in and then go back and delete the extra garbage that gets in, or paste it into
notes or another edit area first. That command literally copies exactly what VO
spoke, so that’s why I said there could be extra junk added with it that would
need to get edited out, or the form will probably say the number isn’t valid.

of a physical SIM?

hi ALAN,

Yes, I did this successfully. I did have cited help at the time, but there
really wasn’t much about the process that made me concerned that I could not
have done it. Originally, I had been told I needed to take a photograph of a QR
code, but that did not prove necessary in this process that I was guided
through.

I did this by contacting Verizon phone support. I went to the My Verizon app,
and in the lower right hand corner there was either a moor or a contact button.
When I ultimately found the contact button, I access them through the schedule
a return call. I did this on four occasions for variety of purposes, and each
time I was called back within three minutes. The representatives were very
helpful.

my only concern about doing this independently, was at one point I needed to
enter a very long series of digits from the about page of Settings, and in my
experience that can be somewhat tenuous relying on voiceover. At least for me.

The phone has been working great ever cents.

I hope this helps. Good luck. Keith

Hi List,

I realize the answer to my question might vary considerably depending on
country of location and mobile service carrier. I’ve ordered a new iPhone 13
Mini and since I have a Verizon Prepaid account, I was unable to specify
Verizon as my carrier when ordering using the Apple Store app. The order would
fail each time the app attempted to confirm my Verizon account so I had to
select the option to purchase the phone for use on any carrier. Phones ordered
in this way come with no SIM card. I understand from the email Apple sent me
indicating my iPhone had shipped that I can use eSIM when activating it. I’m
curious whether anyone on this list has gone the eSIM route when activating a
new iPhone containing no physical SIM. If you have, I’d love to hear what the
steps were to do and how your experience was.

I’ve been advised not to transfer my existing SIM from my SE 2020 to the 13
Mini so I do have a new physical SIM which I got Verizon to mail me. I’ll use
that if the eSIM activation doesn’t work.

Thanks in advance for any comments eSIM users can share.
