Well, my replacement iPod Touch 5th Generation is also shutting down on its
own at somewhere between 15 and 10 percent. It was last at 15 percent while
streaming the Seahawks game and I hadn't checked the battery status for a
few minutes and it announced it was shutting down.

So, I'm thinking either this is a much more wide spread problem that people
are not noticing because they plug it in after they get the 20 percent
warning, or there is some weird setting thing that is causing it.

I'll be talking with Apple at some length tomorrow. I suspect I'm going to
have to hand it over and let them run diagnostics for a while so they can
observe it doing this.
Who knows. I just know I'm disgusted.
