Mickey,

I’m unable to duplicate your issue. I’m running iOS 15.1 on an iPhone 13 Mini
and have a couple of Bluetooth speakers available to my iPhone. I have some
follow-up questions/comments:

1. When you’re playing a BARD Mobile item and adjust the volume, are you
using the volume buttons on your iDevice as opposed to the speaker itself? Your
original post wasn’t clear and I’m assuming you meant the iDevice’s volume
buttons.
2. Is Voiceover coming through your connected Bluetooth speaker? When I
was unable to duplicate your issue, Voiceover was coming through the speaker
which is my preference.
3. What is the setting of Audio destination in your rotor when you’re
experiencing this issue? I believe mine was set to Default audio but I had an
External audio choice as well. Does the issue continue if you cycle between
audio destination settings?
4. Do you have Audio ducking turned on or off when experiencing the issue
and have you tried toggling it to the other option to see if it makes a
difference.?
5. With your Bluetooth speaker connected, what is its device type setting?
In Settings, Bluetooth, place focus on the speaker name and single finger swipe
down to More info and double tap. A screen opens where you can double tap on
Device type and select between Car stereo, Headphone, Hearing aid, Speaker, and
Other. Neither of my Bluetooth speakers had anything selected on this screen
and I still was unable to duplicate your issue when I marked my device type as
a speaker. I did notice that the Voiceover clicks when swiping on the screen
seemed much louder after selecting Speaker here but Voiceover volume for
everything else was unchanged.

Post back after answering the above questions or trying any of the above items
to let us know if any difference occurred. If nothing changes, I’d contact
Apple Accessibility as has been suggested.

Subject: Re: Voiceover problem while using Bluetooth speakers

Hello All:

My ability to play through Bluetooth speakers is still acting the same as it
did with previous iOS versions. I am now on iOS 15.1 with exactly the same
problem. However I did figure out that you can create the problem not only with
bard but with the regular music app also just follow the instructions above an
open music instead of barred.

I’m hoping to find the case ID and report this to Apple today.

Steps to reproduce the problem

Add a speaker to Bluetooth settings.

Go into bard and start playing a book

Use the volume up and down button to set the volume of the speaker you’re
playing through.

While in bard just use voiceover normally.

You’ll find that there are two volumes with voiceover. One of them is the
volume that you set in the rotor and the other one is actually unknown to me at
this point that one is very loud and uncontrollable.

Questions:

One which volume setting is that voice coming from? To how do you control that
volume?

Notes

If you want to change set your system up to be normal again just disconnect the
Bluetooth
