Firstly, Don't delete your library from itunes.
I did this and lost everything off my phones music app. As for meta data, If the music you are looking for is in your itunes or music app on a mac computer, Then it should automatically sync with yor phone music app, Ensure that you are signed in to the itunes / apple id under the account tab, And that you have icloud etc synching all your music as well. You could move your music manually but I forget off the top of my head how to do this now.
