Apple in fact does the best job of keeping people's information secure and private as much as it is possible. Facebook really hates them because they make it so easy to opt out of much of the tracking that is going on and of course any online personality with some following can throw out such rubbish. It makes much better link bait to say "Apple is tracking you wherever you go" than to say "Your smartphone tracks you wherever you go but iPhones do a much better job of letting you maintain more privacy".
