Most of the tracking is necessary in order for the phone and its Apps to function properly. How is my phone going to tell me where the closest library is if the phone doesn’t know where I am located?
And, this really isn’t any kind of a secret since, there are numerous articles from Apple and other places on the net discussing how to turn these features off.
