Yes, quite a few apps will get you to something like a context menu with a one finger double tap and hold or a three finger triple tap. Settings is another good example. I’d suggest just giving it a try to see what apps it works for and what options you get.

The shortcut to get to the updates page is to do a one finger triple tap on the App store icon. This brings up a menu of choices. Updates is one of them.
