BARD 2.0 has not appeared on the list of available updates on my iPhone 8 or my husband's SE2020.

I ended up uninstalling BARD Mobile and redownloading it from the App Store and I got version 2.0 that way. First, if it looks the same, it didn’t update.
The shortcut to get to the updates page is to do a one finger triple tap on the App store icon.
This brings up a menu of choices. Updates is one of them.
Once on that screen, the available updates will be near the bottom of the screen, but they may not show up automagically, so do a three finger swipe down to refresh the screen.

I think the new system works great.
The search is at the top and searching for an author seems to get just that author and not any combination of the first and last name, etc.
Here is what the update says:
Version 2.0 includes a number of new features, including in-app search capabilities: -Search inputs are more intuitive. Author search supports First Name, Last Name format; Last Name, First Name; and Last Name only. Quotation marks are no longer required. Version 2.0 also includes enhancements to searching and sorting Bookshelf and Get Books listings.
