Hi Sarai,
I hesitate to post because I always like to be helpful rather than
muddying the waters. I can replicate that which your friend reports
though in my case things got worse once in the hamburger menu and as
your friend says screen recognition helps but is by no means a full
solution. I had the issues in iOS15 not just 16 so I don't know that
it's fair to say it's an Apple issue for if it were it would seem to me
to be more endemic or system wide rather than app specific. This is just
my opinion but the Ring app as a whole seems to be regressing in terms
of accessibility. I've reported these issues to both Amazon and Ring so
they are known issues and so far no fixes have seemed to be forth
coming. Speaking strictly for myself in light of this I've begun
exploring other options that might better serve my use case scenario.
I'm sorry I can't offer any solutions and as I said I hope I haven't
muddied the waters further. But sometimes it is a comfort to know that
others can replicate the issues one is experiencing. I wish your friend
the best of luck should they choose to contact Ring and Amazon to join
the politely reporting issues advocacy party. 😀
Take good care,
Robin

Hi all:
I’m running iOS 15.7 with Ring app version 5.54.0. I’m having no
issues with Ring and Voiceover.
A friend has iOS 16.1, and ever since iOS 16 his Ring app, same
version will not read anything but the hamburger menu with Voiceover.
He’s Reinstalled the Ring app. We are trying to figure out if this is
on Apple’s end or Ring’s.? I’m suspecting Apple.
