Hello David, Just to be clear, YouTube / YouTube Premium is a completely different product / service than YouTube TV.
As to your question, when viewing a YouTube video, I usually count to 5, after the video starts, then single-finger swipe to the right, once, in order to land on the "this ad can now be skipped", button.
